Espresso Boy

My brother Camillo has always enjoyed tinkering with the mechanical workings of beautifully crafted objects. No matter the object he spends hours and days taking things apart, cleaning them, and rebuilding them as new. A golden pocket watch that belonged to our late grandfather, the mini 4wd race cars with their grease and micro nuts and bolts, a vintage bike our father rode in the 70s, or the intricately built saxophone that he meticulously cleans and fixes every day after playing it.

At Christmas, he was gifted an exquisite coffee machine: the Pavoni, Esperto Abile. This professional machine requires a lot of attention to perform properly, a lot of care for it not to break down and a lot of patience to make what can only be described as a luscious coffee juice.

That’s right. The end result is a dense, creamy, extract. The pungent aroma of the thoughtfully selected brew, a prelude to the warm liquid’s intoxicatingly bitter taste. It looks and sounds as good as it is.

Together with Camillo, we thought of condensing this experience, featuring the harmonious sounds that anticipate the tasting of the delicious concoction.

Enjoy.

(Too bad the 30 minutes of hard work only fill a cup.)
