Man of Wire
Skye Ferrante creates sculptures from wire. He creates portraits, skylines, objects and intricately delicate patterns with a spool of metal wire - a continuous line that moves and twists in Ferrante’s hands to give shape to what he sees.
In mid-March he stood in front of MoMA, the Museum of Modern Art, in New York, a silent protest in support of artists who saw their exhibition spaces and business opportunities close before their eyes with Covid-19 restrictions.
